The Phytoalexin Response o f Lathyrus sativus ( Grass Pea )

چکیده
Leguminosae, Lathyrus sativus, Phytoalexin, 6a-Hydroxypterocarpan, Pisatin Lathyrus sativus was investigated for the nature of its phytoalexin response with the result that leaflets, im mature pods, and seeds were induced to produce 6a-hydroxy-3-methoxy-8,9-methylenedioxypterocarpan (pisatin). Evidence is presented for the metabolism of pisatin, by the wound pathogen Botrytis cinerea, to a phenolic congener, 3,6a-hydroxy-8,9-methylenedioxypterocarpan.

Lathyrus sativus transcriptome resistance response to Ascochyta lathyri investigated by deepSuperSAGE analysis
Lathyrus sativus (grass pea) is a temperate grain legume crop with a great potential for expansion in dry areas or zones that are becoming more drought-prone. It is also recognized as a potential source of resistance to several important diseases in legumes, such as ascochyta blight. Nevertheless, the lack of detailed genomic and/or transcriptomic information hampers further exploitation of gra...

In order to evaluate the forage quality in grass pea (Lathyrus sativus L.) barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) intercropping with application of mycorrhiza fungus (Glomus intraradices), a field experiment was carried out as a randomized complete blocks design (RCBD) with 10 treatments and 3 replications at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Maragheh, Iran during 2017 growing season. Treatments i...

Large numbers of viable protoplasts of pea (Pisum sativum) and grass pea (Lathyrus sativus) were efficiently and reproducibly obtained and, for the first time, fused. Different procedures for fusion were compared, based either on electrofusion (750, 1000, 1250 or 1500 V cm(-1)), or on the use of macro or micromethods with a polyethylene glycol (PEG 6000 or PEG 1540), or a glycine/high pH soluti...

Introduction Grass pea consumption leads to neurolathyrism and a safer use of this environmentally adaptable crop needs cultivars with decreased neurotoxin levels. Were they cross-compatible, grass peas would be useful genetic resources for disease resistance breeding of peas (Pisum sativum L.). In vitro selection (9) and gene transfer may provide grass peas better adapted for consumption, whil...
